Care That Begins With Understanding
Psychiatric care should feel personal, collaborative, and grounded in understanding the whole person—not simply a list of symptoms.
At Sycamore Mental Health & Wellness, care begins by taking the time to understand what you're experiencing, what matters to you, and what you hope will change. Through thoughtful psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning, we'll develop an individualized approach that reflects your needs, goals, and season of life.
Whether you're seeking care for yourself or someone you love, the goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you move forward.
Meet Your Provider
Julie Harris, MNSc, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Life can be difficult, and seeking help is not always easy. Julie Harris is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes mental health care should provide a space where people feel heard, respected, and supported as they work toward meaningful change.
With more than 10 years of experience in mental health care, Julie has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across inpatient and residential settings. Her nursing background also includes medical and neurosurgical intensive care, experiences that helped shape her appreciation for the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and the many circumstances that influence how a person feels and functions.
Julie takes a holistic, individualized approach to psychiatric care, considering the mental, emotional, physical, social, and—when meaningful to the patient—spiritual aspects of well-being. Rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis or list of symptoms, she takes time to understand the person experiencing them.
Her practice primarily focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management, with supportive therapeutic interventions incorporated into care when appropriate. Julie values shared decision-making and works collaboratively with each patient—and with parents or caregivers when appropriate—to explore treatment options and develop a plan that feels both clinically sound and personally meaningful.
Above all, Julie genuinely enjoys getting to know the people she serves. Her hope is that each person who comes to Sycamore feels they have a partner in their care and leaves with a clearer path forward, a renewed sense of possibility, and hope for what can take root next.
Why Sycamore?
Because sometimes, hope just needs somewhere to take root.
Some seasons of life ask more of us than others.
The sycamore tree was chosen as the symbol of Sycamore Mental Health & Wellness because of what it represents: strength, resilience, growth, and the possibility of seeing life from a different perspective.
Like a tree, meaningful change rarely happens all at once. It begins beneath the surface—with strong roots, steady care, and the space to grow.
Sycamore was created with the belief that seeking mental health care can be one of those beginnings. You don't have to have everything figured out before asking for help. Sometimes, simply showing up for yourself is the first step toward something different.
Whatever season of life brings you here, our hope is to meet you with compassion, thoughtful care, and room to move forward at your own pace.
